The Filter Cleaner Max is the best way to clean your cartridge style pool filter quickly and without bending or kneeling for long periods.
By cleaning from the inside and outside at the same time, your pool filter will get cleaned quickly and easily. The internal jets are adjustable for various pool filter lengths up to 34″ long depending on which kit you select. While the internal jets are spinning and cleaning your filter, the cleaning wand used simultaneously on the outside pushes all of the dirt and debris out the bottom of the filter.

The Filter Cleaner Max will work with all cartridge-style pool filters with a 3 or 4″ core up to 28 inches tall. If your filter is taller than that or has a 6″ core, no problem. We also have the 6″ core version that will filter up to 34″ tall. Q&A
Question: My filter has core supports like the attached photo. Will this work with this style filter?
Answer: It will not work with this style of filter cartridge. Most aftermarket manufacturers have updated the cores of the filters. The updated cores typically do not have the core supports, so you will want to verify that your filter does not have this style of core support before purchasing.
Question: I am using a larger filter and I cannot get it to spin like the video shows. What am I doing wrong?
Answer: Although it is not necessary for the filter to free spin since you will be using the wand to clean the outside, which will also spin the filter where it will clean the inside as well, but we know it is fun to watch it spin.
Various factors come into play.
First, make sure your bearings are spinning freely. You can place the lower spinner on the pressure tube and give it a spin to make sure it is spinning freely and spins for a few seconds. If it does not, you can rinse the bearing out and make sure there is not any debris stuck inside. Repeat the same step for the top spinner. If it does not spin for a few seconds after cleaning it out, reach out to us.
The most important step is to make sure there are 3 jets spraying the filter. One jet at the lowest that is always open, one at the highest point of the filter, and one at the midpoint. You also need to make sure the top jet is spraying inside the plastic core and coming in contact with the filter pleats. If it is not, you will need to use the supplied spacers and place one of them under the lower spinner plate. Whichever one works to get the spray jet in the center is the one you will want to use. You will simply place a spacer, the lower spinner, and the cone on the pressure tube. Then lightly turn on the valve to the pressure tube to make sure the water is spraying the pleats. You will also need to make sure that the O-ring is not covering the lower jet and water is coming out of all 3 jets.
If your stream is not consistent from the 3 jets, you may have had some debris enter your water supply. You can use the supplied allen wrench while the water is barely on to remove any obstructions from the jet holes. You will want to poke it in the hole to free anything that may be lodged while the water is pushing it out.
Make sure you are using a quality 5/8″ garden hose that will supply enough water. Expanding hoses will not supply enough water pressure as their inside diameters are small and the water pressure is used to expand the hoses.
Your home water pressure may also play a factor. If you typically have low water pressure, it may not have enough water pressure to drive the system. Typically greater than 40 lbs of pressure is needed for smaller filters and 60 lbs or more for larger filters. Homes with well water may potentially be on the lower side of water pressure.
